Here are the latest activities and developments from the International Network of Engaged Buddhists in the new year.
Eco-Dharma Camp 2026
INEB announced its upcoming Eco-Dharma Camp for 2026, bringing together engaged Buddhists and community partners to deepen practice and ecological understanding through shared teachings and activities.
Scoping Visit to Kengtung, Myanmar
“Upon entering Shan State, we arrived at an economic hub — modern, lively, and bustling with transport, trade, and a mix of cultures.” This visit highlighted infrastructure challenges and raised important questions about access to education and health services in rural communities. Many local families still struggle to access basic services — especially schooling for children.
Girls Dormitory Construction
Construction began on a new girls’ dormitory in Kung Jor shortly after the New Year. The adjacent temple generously provided the land, and support from Ven. Ponyum Sunim’s organisation JTS helped cover building expenses. This dormitory will provide safe accommodation for families sending children to school from conflict-affected areas of Shan State.
Blooming in Crisis Exhibition
SEM, Asia Justice and Rights (AJAR), and Amnesty International Thailand invite all supporters to join the panel discussion and opening day of a collective art exhibition marking the fifth year since the military coup in Myanmar. The event celebrates resilience and highlights ongoing struggles for justice and human rights.
