The GNRC Sixth Forum Post-Forum Meeting in Asia reaffirmed the shared commitment of faith leaders, civil society organizations, and child protection partners to answer the call of the child by building a safer, more compassionate, and hopeful world for every child. Bringing together around 60 participants in person and 30 online, the gathering provided an important space for reflection on the commitments made in the Abu Dhabi Declaration on Building a Hopeful World for Children and for sharing practical experiences from across the region.
Participants emphasized that protecting children is both a moral and spiritual responsibility shared across religious traditions. Through dialogue and group discussions, the meeting highlighted the important role that faith communities can play in strengthening child protection systems, promoting positive parenting, supporting migrant and refugee children, and advocating for inclusive policies that respect the dignity and rights of all children, including those with disabilities.
The meeting also showcased inspiring initiatives across Asia—from interfaith child protection working groups and youth engagement programs to training for religious leaders and community-based responses to violence against children. These examples demonstrated how interfaith collaboration, community engagement, and policy advocacy can work together to create meaningful change.
As the GNRC network continues its journey toward Strategy 2030, participants renewed their commitment to strengthening partnerships, expanding child-centered initiatives, and ensuring that the voices and experiences of children remain at the heart of collective action. The Chiang Mai meeting served not only as a reflection on progress but also as a renewed call for faith communities and partners to work together in building a safe, secure, and sustainable world for children.
