Lyrics
Just a Closer Walk with Thee (Buddhist Version)
Just a closer walk with thee,
And Bodhisattvas hear my plea.
Walking side by side with thee,
Let it be just as it is, let it be.
I seem to be both weak and strong,
Help me keep apart from wrong.
Well, I’ll be satisfied as long
As I walk the path, I’ll walk with thee.
Through this world of toil and snares,
Well, if I falter, who will care?
Who will meet my burden and share?
All of thee, great spirits, all of thee.
When my fragile life is o’er,
My time on earth will be no more.
Well, guide me, gentlemen, safely on
To that shore, to that peaceful shore.
Just a closer walk with thee,
And Bodhisattvas hear my plea.
Walking side by side with thee,
Let it be just as it is, let it be.
