Description
This English edition translates the Thai manuscript supplied by the user, preserving its argument, organization, personal recollections, quotations, and evaluative language as closely as possible while rendering the prose in natural English. Proper names and Buddhist terms are transliterated or translated where the source itself provides an English equivalent. The original manuscript contains political judgments, historical claims, and interpretations of religion and public institutions; those views belong to the original text. This translation does not independently verify them.
The book is not a conventional biography. Its central theme is Sulak Sivaraksa as a mentor, public intellectual, Buddhist thinker, institution-builder, and “creative rebel” whose influence is traced across several generations of Thai activists and intellectuals.
